I've created a drawing format for my company and added a logo. It all works fine. If I print the drawing format from the drawing format file itself, it will show the logo. But when I use the drawing format in a sheet in another file, then it will not print the logo.

Any suggestions on how to solve this?

Thanks!

Hi Tijs,

I've played with formats quite some the recent weeks and found that it works allright with logos placed in the template file. I made formats for all purposes and all paper sizes our printers support. I use the PNG format wit alpha channel for the logo, FWIW, just because that's how they are available here. I don't know if other graphic file formats work just as well.

What really bugs me with formats is that you can only have one current format per document, so when I make drawings for the multiple parts of an assembly, and the individual parts require different paper sizes and orientations, it's all messed up, because once I add a new drawing in a new format, all old drawings loose their format and acquire the new one. When I then want to view or print other drawings, I first need to readjust the format. That's annoying.

Does anybody have a suggestion how to handle this?

Hi Martin,

Thanks for the reply! I managed to have a printed logo the last time I printed something. It worked fine after I installed SP 3. So that's solved.

I agree with you that it's frustrating that you can only have one paper size per document. I solved it by making all separate documents of the components in my assemblies. So then the drawings are linked to a different file which makes it possible to choose different formats and sizes.

I hope that works for you too.

Hi Tijs,

I have been thinking along that line, but was not certain, if it would work. Exteralizing all my components would take a while, I guess, but if you say that it solves the sheet size issue it might well be worth it.

Earlier this year I had issues with this, though: I created an assembly, made all components external, then opened them one by one and created drawings. Everything was just fine, then. When I opened the assembly again, most drawings were gone and I had several with the same sheet number, which was somewhat disturbing, obviously not only for me, but also for the application.

I'll try with a copy, then! :O)

Hi,Anyone know how to scale the main design window?I design small objects and would like to see them at a 1:1 scale. In other words, if the object is 8mm by 6mm, I would like to see it life-size on the screen. I can do it on a drawing sheet but that…
