The Online Community About Exciting New CAD Technologies

I still have major problems with the file structure of SC. I really want to find
a way to copy an assembly with no associations to the original parts/assemblies.
When I copy/paste from the original into a new design I get my copies devided in
only parts, which gives a lot of work to make components/groups again. When I do
a "save as" it stll has associations with the original file.I think the problems
arise when an external subassembly is present. But when I try to convert this to
an internal it dissapears or I get an error "The operation is not supported for
an occurance". Can someone clarify this?

Regards,

The error does not show any more in the 2009+sp1 version of SC.
When copy-pasting between designs things still get torn out of their assembly, though. So the save-as method is the way to go, select 'use internal copy' in your target design when you want no associations to external components.

Beware! There is an issue with saving components as copy, which creates an externalized component in the source design anyway. Re-internalize them if necessary.

Hi,Anyone know how to scale the main design window?I design small objects and would like to see them at a 1:1 scale. In other words, if the object is 8mm by 6mm, I would like to see it life-size on the screen. I can do it on a drawing sheet but that…
