I'm not sure where the problem might be (in ProE or SC), but, when I save as "step" from SC and I try to open the file (part or assembly) in ProE I frequentely have problems (gaps or corrupted surfaces).
Im also having a similar problem going from SC into EdgeCAM using either step or iges. I just have the standard translators but it seems getting data out of SC is a bit of a problem :-(
as far as I can see from their website, the makers of edgcam use ACIS, at least for some of their stuff. Maybe you should try to use the native ACIS format of both SC and EC then for file exchange, to minimize the potential for translation trouble?
I think that would be a good solution, but sometimes customers ask me to send a STEP or IGES file, so I don't have the possibility to choose a different format.
I'm making some tests changing ProE "accuracy" and with lower values things work better (but some problems still remain).
The model I'm trying to open in ProE as STEP (exported from SC) is a STEP made with NX than imported to SC and modified and finally exported again as STEP 203 (I need it for a simulation in ProMechanica).
I started downloading it when I left home this morning. I'll try to take a look at it when I get back and my wife leaves for the girl's night out she's having tonight ... I wonder if I could run it on a Mac, as I have no PC at home.

The basic structural tools in CAElinux are quite usable!
Advanced modules (explicit and CFD solvers) on the contrary are quite difficult tu use.
The configuration is very simple (CAElinux is based on Ubuntu).
Hello Fabrizio,
The reason why you see the wait cursor is because you are still inside the command that you executed to display the dialog. What you need to do is display a modeless dialog:
var form = new Form1();
form.Show(Application.MainWindow)…
Hi Martin, the software is already available and the structural module works well. Only the integration will be completed only in 2011: it would be great to add our resources to SpaceClaim support!
Hi Matteo,
well, 2011 is a bit far for now ...
Given the usual way things go, software planned to be ready in 2011 isn't available before 2012 and not usable before 2013, so it'll have to be something else I am looking for to meet today's requireme…
