Guys I have found one strange thing in Alibre Design.......... You know.. ALibre even the latest version 11.2, doesn't export .iges format from Assembly.
My trial -
I tried to export assembly file as stp file then importing it back into Alibre....
(but I m surprised why Alibre imports it as an Assembly file and not as A standard part file.) Otherwise it could be a trick to overcome the limitation.

Any comments or anything anybody knows better than me!!!

Hi folks,

I'm in the market for a CAD system for a small business. Assemblies, PDM etc are critical. Rhino type of surfacing and spaceclaim like intuitive editing. Well, that would be the dream system. But for someone with a tight budget, I was comparing options. Since on this forum we have both alibre and spaceclaim people, I'd appreciate a discussion.

The finalists for me are:
1. Spaceclaim+Rhino+some cobbled up PDM+FEA (Ansys or Femap+NEiNastran).
2. Alibre Expert + Rhino+FEA(Ansys or Femap+NEiNastran)
3. If some UGS smart egg shows some mercy and sponsors us with a full suite of Velocity series with a HUGE discount, we may be delighted.

Would you like to share your views on the 1st and 2nd choices?

Thanks,
N

Hi,Anyone know how to scale the main design window?I design small objects and would like to see them at a 1:1 scale. In other words, if the object is 8mm by 6mm, I would like to see it life-size on the screen. I can do it on a drawing sheet but that…
