Hi Tom, my meaning wasn`t not dump the Ironcad, I`m sure that it is very good choice. I`ve used 3d cad`s since 1997 (ProE, Inventor, SolidEdge). There are lot of cads which are very powerfull with several options. My aim was to say that I`m getting…

Hi Anssi, SpaceClaim acts much like Sketchup from google, it has a push/pull tool that is very nice, I agree and it performs in a very "free" form. However, you really cannot pitch SpaceClaim against IronCAD because they are in different leagues so…

Ok, it need perhaps more training to use Ironcad than Spaceclaim. I think both softwares are usefull.

The UI is what I dont like in Ironcad, keep it simple like in Spaceclaim.

Hello All, I'm new to this site and came across this post. First I would like to say that I am a certified IronCAD reseller for over 15 years and it still surprises me that IronCAD has the tendency to get pidgeon holed as a direct modeler by industr…

Question to all spaceclaimers Hi, What are your impressions with Spaceclaim? I want to use it with Rhino. I tried Spaceclaim 2007 but was disappointed how Spaceclaim worked with Rhino at the time. Is 2009 version worth the 1500$ ??? Thanks Alex w…

When I select plan view or "V", the component zooms off the screen requiring subsequent panning and zooming to "find my place" again. Any one else have this issue?

TransMagic 64-Bit Shatters the Limits to Large CAD File Translation

TransMagic, Inc., developer of 3D CAD data exchange products announced the first release of a true 64-bit version of their flagship product, TransMagic EXPERT. Translating large 3D design files is a memory-intensive operation that has been very challenging, primarily due to system memory restrictions. TransMagic 64-Bit permanently changes the landscap… Continue

Interview with Andrea Carignano, CEO seac02 (LinceoVR)

Italy is a country famous for several reasons. Among them: artistic and historical monuments, great food, fashion, music, and sport cars. Software and technology are seldom added to the list. So when you happen to meet the CEO of a successful Italian software company, the first reaction is always some sort of surprise: "Software?" If the… Continue

Ok no problem franco,

Did you get a chance to see the videos, if so what was it that was wrong with them so i know for any future posts. i do understand that posting that many videos at once was probably not the best thing to do but that's a lesson learnt.

thanks for you're feedback

I am currently a CAD/CAM technician, my background is in the woodworking industry participially architectural joinery. I started my career as a bench monkey like most but soon found myself in the pre preproduction department after a few years hard work. This then led me into software for the woodworking industry. As a bonus i also strayed into 3D visualization and i am currently still creating visuals booth in my own time and for various clients. so i do believe i have something to offer the network and i look forward to participateing. just to clear up the videos that i posted, yes i do work for a company that supply's software solutions & consultation to the wood working industry, the software that i tried to show members is 3D Analyzer Software it is built by woodworkers and for woodworkers and i believe that it is a very powerfull, so do SolidWorks , AlphaCAM & Autodesk as we are solution partners with these top CAD companys. In summery i am here to help people on you're network not spam or fleece them.

Hi Franco,

I'm happy to join this community. I really like the concept of SpaceClaim, but unfortunately you can obviously notice that it's a relatively young program.

And I like to share my user experience with the developers to speed up the enhancements. I have a word document full of enhancement requests, with screenshots and everything. When I experience something strange or if I think of a possibility to further improve the program I update this word file.

Do you know if there's someone that I can email this file to every now and then? Yourself maybe? Are you one of the Spaceclaim developers?

Please let me know!

Best Regards,
Tijs

Hi Franco!! that was a quick reply and approval! Thanks! Sure, I will try to put up my pic :) asap. This looks like a cool community where all can "share" there views and ideas.Though my current field is with integration of CAD tools with PLM, I remember my good old MCAD days with SolidWorks as an AE. And all those MCAD wars about different functionalities and features, cool stuff.BTW why there is no Pro/E Group?

Thanks for the reply. 1. I have played around a little bit with it. It's a very powerful tool for selecting elements with in solids, but doesn't work at all with components. It would be nice if that selection tool would find attributes of a compone…

Hi Dennis, 1. Did you notice the selection tab under the component tree? You might want to play around with that one and see what it can do for you. 4. You can move any direction you like, but you need to use the move tool. I know Cinema4D as quit…

Hmmm... I could not find any anomalities in SC 2010 so far. I think the hierarchy driven alignment preferences have always been ab bit ugly. I'd prefer if the alignment direction would be defined by the sequence of selection. The object selected fir…

In former versions I did not have any problems with it. But with V.2010 it is unpredictable. I agree with you Martin that the anchor constraint wil work but it is extra mouseclicks and I do not believe this is the way it is supposed to be.

I don't think there is a setting. You can use the anchor constraint to prevent one component from moving, though. I f you don't specify anything, the lower in hierarchy component will always move towards the higher (=closer to root) component. So, b…
